Volumes of realized horizontal stabiliser under the criteria of controllability and stability The criteria of controllability is a result of the pressure on the rudder expressed by the thrust of the outer engine and its distance to the middle of the fuselage and the area of the horizontal stabiliser and its lever arm.

The stability criteria is a -volume ratio relating to the analogy of the vertical stabiliser volume with the horizontally projected fuselage area.
